Apple<\/a> is facing growing legal pressure over its delayed rollout of personalized Siri features<\/strong> that were heavily promoted as part of its Apple Intelligence<\/strong> initiative. At least two new class action lawsuits<\/strong> have been filed in recent weeks \u2014 one in California<\/strong> and another in British Columbia, Canada<\/strong> \u2014 alleging false advertising<\/strong> and unfair competition<\/strong> related to these missing capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most recent U.S. complaint, filed in a California federal court<\/strong>, accuses Apple of misleading customers by marketing next-gen Siri features that were not available at launch<\/strong> and remain missing. The plaintiffs claim they would not have purchased<\/strong>, or at least would not have paid full price<\/strong>, for an iPhone 16<\/strong> if they had known the advertised features weren\u2019t ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple showcased the upgraded Siri at WWDC 2024<\/strong>, describing personalized context awareness, smarter app control, and the ability to reference real-time user data \u2014 like checking flight times or making lunch plans using information from Mail and Messages. These demos were promoted across multiple platforms, including Apple\u2019s website and a commercial featuring actor Bella Ramsey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the promised Siri features were delayed beyond their initial iOS 18.4<\/strong> target, and now aren\u2019t expected until sometime during the iOS 19 cycle<\/strong> \u2014 or possibly even 2026<\/strong>, according to several well-connected Apple analysts and reporters.
