On an early-morning walk, you can enjoy your favorite podcast while staying aware of traffic around you. In the office, you can listen to music without missing a coworker calling your name. For situations where environmental awareness matters, this design is remarkably thoughtful.

On the audio front, Samsung has equipped the earbuds with TwinBoost dual speakers for punchier bass, along with dedicated technology to reduce sound leakage so you will not disturb people nearby. Call performance is handled by three microphones working together with a voice pickup unit (VPU). The VPU captures the vibrations of your speech, and an algorithm trained on a wide range of environmental sounds then separates your voice from noisy backgrounds. That said, its noise cancellation is still expected to fall short of the higher-end Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

The Galaxy Buds On also pack a new high-efficiency Class D amplifier that strikes a solid balance between power consumption and sound quality. Battery life is equally impressive: the earbuds deliver about 9.5 hours of playback on a single charge, and up to 38 hours in total when used with the charging case.

In addition, the earbuds work seamlessly with the features of Galaxy smartphones. Paired with a compatible Galaxy device, you can nod to answer a call or quickly record a voice memo without ever taking out your phone.

The Galaxy Buds On are priced at $229 and are currently available only in black.

Samsung has finally introduced its first open-ear clip-on wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On.
