In 2019, the dock was eliminated, and in 2020, wireless DeX came out \u2014 on Windows, Samsung DeX could be accessed via the DeX app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA-1200x675.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AA1uWGPA.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But starting with One UI 7, the DeX app for Windows will no longer work; at that point, users are encouraged to switch over to Microsoft\u2019s Phone Link app. One UI 7 is rumored to enter beta testing in mid-December and will likely start rolling out in the US early in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotted by Windows Central, the UK page for Samsung DeX now has a tiny footnote that says as much:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe DeX for PC on Windows OS will end support from One UI 7 version. We encourage customers to connect mobile phone and PC through the Link to Windows feature.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the US page for Samsung DeX has no such footnote.
