The company explained that most users watch Facebook Live videos within the first few weeks after they are broadcast, which is why the decision was made to limit the storage duration of these videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, Facebook Live videos were kept on the platform indefinitely, but Meta noticed that older live streams<\/strong> were seldom viewed. As part of its new strategy, the company will begin removing all Facebook Live videos older than 30 days in stages over the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta’s decision is largely driven by the high costs<\/strong> associated with storing videos, especially as the company plans to invest $65 billion in AI development<\/strong> this year. By clearing out older content, Meta can free up storage space and reduce operational expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
