Competing directly with Tesla, it quickly gained traction, delivering 135,000 units in just eight months after receiving&nbsp;over 248,000 orders. That\u2019s a big deal\u2014hitting over&nbsp;10,000 monthly deliveries&nbsp;is a key benchmark in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&gt;&gt;&gt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/detail\/1746993\/BP4N\">BP4N<\/a>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/brand\/3\/Xiaomi\">Xiaomi<\/a>&nbsp;Pad 6 23043RP34C 23043RP34G 23043RP34I<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even&nbsp;<strong>Ford CEO Jim Farley<\/strong>&nbsp;couldn\u2019t ignore Xiaomi\u2019s new car. Speaking on&nbsp;<em>The Fully Charged Podcast<\/em>, he admitted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;I don&#8217;t like talking about the competition so much, but I drive the Xiaomi. We flew one from Shanghai to Chicago, and I&#8217;ve been driving it for six months now, and I don&#8217;t want to give it up.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>If that\u2019s not a strong endorsement, what is?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At&nbsp;<strong>MWC Barcelona 2025<\/strong>,&nbsp;Xiaomi president Lu Weibing&nbsp;confirmed that the company has&nbsp;already started evaluating international markets, especially&nbsp;Europe. His goal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u201cI hope that we can officially start tapping foreign markets in 2027.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But Xiaomi isn\u2019t rushing things. Lu made it clear that&nbsp;getting a strong foothold in China comes first, explaining:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;If a Chinese carmaker can\u2019t secure a good position in the domestic market, it will struggle to expand overseas.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And Xiaomi isn\u2019t slowing down. The company recently launched the&nbsp;premium SU7 Ultra\u2014priced at&nbsp;529,900 yuan ($73,000)\u2014and is&nbsp;aiming to sell 10,000 units&nbsp;of it. Meanwhile,&nbsp;CEO Lei Jun&nbsp;has predicted that Xiaomi will deliver over 300,000 EVs in 2025, with a&nbsp;<strong>new YU7 SUV expected to debut later this year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&gt;&gt;&gt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/detail\/1746050\/G10\">G10<\/a>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.batteryone.co\/brand\/37\/Xiaomi\">Xiaomi<\/a>&nbsp;Mijia Wireless Sweeping Robot G9 G10<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">China\u2019s EV Boom\u2014and the Roadblocks Ahead<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>China&nbsp;dominates the global EV market, with&nbsp;10.9 million electric and plug-in hybrid cars sold in 2024, a&nbsp;40.7% increase over the previous year, according to the&nbsp;China Passenger Car Association. But there are still challenges ahead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Too many factories, not enough demand:<\/strong>\u00a0Only\u00a0<strong>half of China\u2019s EV production facilities are running at full capacity<\/strong>\u00a0because companies have expanded so quickly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>High tariffs on exports:<\/strong>\u00a0Chinese EVs face\u00a0<strong>17\u201335.3% import duties in the EU<\/strong>\u00a0and an even steeper\u00a0<strong>100% tariff in the US<\/strong>, making global expansion tricky.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Profitability struggles:<\/strong>\u00a0While big names like\u00a0<strong>BYD, Li Auto, and Aito<\/strong>\u00a0are turning a profit,\u00a0<strong>many other Chinese EV brands are still losing money<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Xiaomi has&nbsp;momentum on its side, but it still has hurdles to clear before it can&nbsp;go global.&nbsp;Can it navigate tariffs, regulations, and competition from legacy automakers?&nbsp;Time will tell.
