Firefox Adds Long-Awaited Tab Groups Feature to Organize Your Browser

Mozilla has recently rolled out an update to the Firefox browser, introducing a long-awaited feature: tab groups. This addition comes in response to widespread demand from Firefox users, with tab groups being the most requested feature on the Mozilla Connect community platform. Interestingly, this was the very first request Mozilla received when launching Connect in 2022.

With the new tab groups functionality, users can now easily drag and drop tabs into organized groups, which can be named or color-coded for easy identification. These groups are then displayed in the top menu on the right side of the browser. The feature is available starting with Firefox version 137, and all users will have access to it by May 6.

Safari already offers a similar feature, allowing users to save open tabs into organized groups that can be revisited later. This is especially useful for tasks like vacation planning, comparison shopping, and project research, where multiple tabs are needed.

Additionally, Mozilla is experimenting with smart tab groups, an AI-powered feature that will automatically suggest names and groupings based on the tabs users have open. This feature may be introduced in the future.

For those interested in learning more, Mozilla has provided detailed instructions on how to create and manage tab groups on its official website.
