Apple Expands Sleep Apnea Detection and Heart Health Features to More Countries Worldwide

Apple has expanded the availability of sleep apnea detection on the Apple Watch to additional countries across Europe, Asia, South America, and other regions.

The feature uses the Apple Watch’s accelerometer to monitor micro-movements during sleep that correlate with disrupted breathing patterns. Repeated disturbances across several nights may indicate sleep apnea. Users are required to wear the watch consistently during sleep for initial detection. Data is recorded in the Breathing Disturbances section of the Health app on iPhone.

The feature is available on Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2, and is now supported in over 150 countries globally.

In addition to bringing sleep apnea detection to more countries, Apple is also expanding AFib History, ECGs, and Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications to a few more areas.ECG readings and Irregular Rhythm Notifications have launched in Argentina, Costa Rica, and Serbia, while AFib history is now available in Argentina and Serbia.

These cardiovascular features are now supported on Apple Watch models in more than 150 countries. Apple maintains an up-to-date list of feature availability on its official website.
