Motorola has officially unveiled the Signature 27. As the successor to the original Motorola Signature launched in January of this year, the new phone is priced at $1,599 or €1,899 and will go on sale first in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on November 16.
The Signature 27 comes in two colorways. The Pantone Coal Smoke version features a tactical woven texture, while the Pantone Capulet Olive version uses a textile texture, each with its own distinct style.
Motorola Signature 27 Technical Specifications
The new phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, which Qualcomm released in September. It offers 12GB or 16GB of RAM, with a choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage.
The cooling system has also been upgraded. This solution, called ArcticMesh, combines thermal gel, microscopic diamond particles, and an 8,384-square-millimeter vapor chamber, which is 40% larger than the one in the original Signature.
On the front is a 6.78-inch 1.5K dual-tone OLED display, officially named Extreme AMOLED Duo. The panel uses a dual-layer light-emitting design and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. According to Motorola, the screen can reach a peak brightness of 12,000 nits at 1% pixel density, with 34% better energy efficiency and a 121% longer lifespan compared to the OLED panel in the original Signature.
The rear camera system consists of three sensors. The main camera is a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910, paired with a LOFIC image enhancement chip, featuring an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. The second is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, capable of up to 100x zoom in Super Zoom Pro mode. The third is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a 122-degree field of view.
Video recording supports up to 8K at 30fps or 4K at 120fps, with Dolby Vision compatibility. The front camera is also 50 megapixels and supports autofocus and 4K video recording.
The Signature 27 packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 35% increase in capacity over the original Signature’s 5,200mAh. It supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, and also offers 5W reverse wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wired charging.
The larger battery adds to the phone’s size: the new device measures 162.01 x 77.04 x 7.99 mm and weighs 227 grams. By comparison, the previous generation was 7 mm thick and weighed 186 grams.
The frame is made of aluminum alloy, the back panel combines ceramic and glass, and the surface is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection. The device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. In addition, it is equipped with stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos and a six-antenna system with Wi-Fi 8 support.
The Signature 27 ships with Android 17 out of the box, and Motorola promises seven major Android OS updates. Google’s Gemini Intelligence features will also roll out to the phone over the coming months.
