Xiaomi’s YU7 electric SUV, which is set to be released in the coming months, has recently updated its filing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China. This update introduces a new single-motor version, offering an impressive range of up to 835 kilometers (519 miles). Xiaomi has confirmed that this model will be available for purchase between June and July of this year.
The newly registered version of the YU7 comes equipped with a single electric motor that delivers 235 kW of power. It features a remarkable energy consumption rate of only 13.3 kWh per 100 kilometers. Despite its impressive range, the vehicle maintains a balanced weight of 2,315 kilograms, striking a good equilibrium between range and size.

Design and Features
The YU7 showcases a modern and stylish design, featuring a closed grille, “water drop” headlights, and an X-shaped daytime running light (DRL) design. The upper portion of the light clusters is hollowed out to optimize airflow, contributing to the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency. With dimensions of 4,999 x 1,996 x 1,600 mm and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, the YU7 firmly positions itself in the mid-size SUV category.
One of the standout features of the YU7 is its cutting-edge technology. The vehicle is equipped with a laser radar sensor mounted on the roof, along with a hollowed-out spoiler, enhancing the car’s futuristic appeal. These additions reflect Xiaomi’s commitment to providing a highly technological driving experience.
Interior and Comfort
The interior of the YU7 combines elegance and comfort with a two-tone color scheme of purple and beige. The centerpiece of the user interface is a floating central touchscreen paired with a panoramic head-up display (PHUD) system. The PHUD provides clear navigation, speed, and other vital information, reducing driver distraction and improving safety. The dashboard includes a wireless charging pad, dual-opening armrest storage, and cup holders, while the high-end configurations feature electric leg rests and zero-gravity seats, ensuring a comfortable long-distance driving experience. Additionally, higher-tier models will offer an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and carbon fiber interior trim for a more premium feel.

Charging and Range
In terms of charging technology, the Xiaomi YU7 series supports 800V high-voltage fast charging. The single-motor version with an 820 km range can be charged for just five minutes to provide an additional 200 km of driving range. The specific charging parameters for the 835 km version have yet to be revealed, but they are expected to be similarly fast and efficient.
Referring to the pricing logic of competitors such as Tesla Model Y, Xiaopeng G7 and Xiaomi SU7, YU7 is expected to have a target price between 250,000 and 350,000 yuan.
