Insta360 has officially launched the GO Ultra in the U.S. market, offering creators a compact yet powerful camera solution. Weighing just 53 grams, the device combines portability with high-end imaging capabilities, including a 1/1.28-inch sensor—a 221% increase in size over previous models—and a 5nm AI chip that enables 4K video recording at 60fps with improved low-light performance through PureVideo technology.
According to Max Richter, Insta360 cofounder and VP of marketing, GO Ultra brings innovations from the company’s Ace and X series into a smaller form factor tailored for creators who prioritize portability.

The GO Ultra features a built-in magnetic base and supports a variety of accessories, including Sticky Tabs, a Magnet Pendant, and the Toddler Titan Hat Clip for POV and third-person perspectives. The Action Pod enhances usability with a flip screen, real-time Bluetooth video feed, and easy framing for dynamic scenes or family moments.
The updated Insta360 mobile app adds further creative tools, including drag-and-drop editing, transitions, background music, Strava data overlays, and AI Family Moments, which automatically compiles footage into virtual scrapbooks.
Designed for durability, the GO Ultra is IPX8-rated (waterproof to 33 ft) and features ambient light sensors for accurate color calibration. Battery life is rated at 70 minutes standalone and up to 200 minutes with the Action Pod, with 80% charging completed in 12 minutes. Unlike earlier models, GO Ultra includes a microSD slot supporting up to 2TB of expandable storage.
The device is now in stock and shipping, unlike competing products such as DJI’s Osmo 360, which remains limited in availability.
