Insta360 Announces December 4 Launch of Antigravity A1, Its First 8K 360° Cinematic Drone

For those awaiting Insta360’s Antigravity A1 drone, the company has announced its official launch date. Antigravity confirmed via its social media channels that the A1 will be unveiled on December 4, 2025, at 9 a.m. ET.

The Antigravity A1 is not simply a drone equipped with a 360-degree camera; it is a device built from the ground up to produce immersive, cinematic aerial footage. Key features include:

8K 360° Capture:

The A1 uses a dual-lens vertical camera system similar to Insta360 action cameras, enabling seamless 360-degree recording with no blind spots.

Invisible-Drone Effect:

Real-time automatic stitching allows the drone’s body to be largely removed from the final footage, creating the appearance of a floating camera rather than a visible aircraft.

Sub-250 g Weight:

Weighing 249 g, the A1 falls below the 250 g regulatory threshold in many countries, including the United States, reducing registration and licensing requirements for recreational users.

Immersive FPV Control:

The A1 includes the “Grip” motion controller and “Vision” goggles, enabling gesture-based flight control and 360-degree viewing during flight without using traditional joysticks.

Flexible Post-Production:

Because footage is captured in full 360 degrees, framing does not need to be precise during flight. Users can reframe shots in post-production, adjust aspect ratios, add cinematic camera movements, and apply effects such as “tiny planet” views.

Safety and Practical Design:

Features include return-to-home capability, payload detection, and basic obstacle sensing. The drone also incorporates retractable landing gear that deploys only during landing to prevent interference with the 360° camera system.

The Antigravity A1 is positioned for creators—including filmmakers, travel videographers, and immersive content producers—who prioritize flexibility and cinematic quality. The company describes it as introducing “a new way to fly.”
