The vivo S50 and S50 Pro mini are now official in China as the brand’s latest midrange smartphones, bringing refreshed designs and meaningful hardware upgrades over their predecessors.

The standard vivo S50 features a slightly smaller 6.59-inch display compared to the previous generation and is powered by the more capable Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Meanwhile, the S50 Pro mini retains its compact 6.31-inch form factor and receives a notable performance boost with the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC.

Both models are equipped with AMOLED displays offering FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Each panel houses a 50MP front-facing camera and features an updated ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Durability and battery life are also highlights. Both devices carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and pack large 6,500mAh silicon-carbon batteries with 90W wired fast charging. The S50 Pro mini adds support for 40W wireless charging.
In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 inside the S50 should deliver a clear improvement over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 used in the S30. Likewise, the S50 Pro mini’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 promises a step up from the Dimensity 9300+ found in the S30 Pro mini. Both phones can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Camera hardware is largely shared between the two models. Each features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor (IMX921), a 50MP telephoto camera (IMX882) with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Both devices run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 out of the box.
