Xiaomi is preparing to launch its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5–powered Xiaomi 17 series, including redesigned Pro models that introduce a secondary rear display called the Magic Back Screen.
The implementation builds on Xiaomi’s earlier attempt with the Mi 11 Ultra, but this time the rear display covers a larger portion of the back, extending around the dual-camera setup.

Xiaomi has not disclosed the screen size, but confirmed that it supports always-on display customization, allowing users to show modified content. While additional features have not been demonstrated, the screen is expected to support rear-camera selfies, similar to the Mi 11 Ultra, and its size suggests potential for widgets or app integration.
As for cameras, leaks indicate the Xiaomi 17 Pro may retain largely the same setup as its predecessor, while the Pro Max is expected to feature an upgraded Leica-tuned system. More details about the series are expected in upcoming teasers.
