Samsung Galaxy M17 5G: Mid-Range Power with Exynos 1330 and 90Hz AMOLED Display

Samsung has introduced a new mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M17 5G, based on the Galaxy A17 5G. The device features a typical Samsung design with a pill-shaped camera module and a flat frame housing the volume and power buttons. Its display includes a waterdrop notch instead of a punch hole, along with a slightly thicker bottom bezel—visual cues of its budget-oriented positioning.

The Galaxy M17 5G is powered by the Exynos 1330, a 5 nm ARM-based processor introduced in 2023. It integrates two high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.4 GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The chipset is paired with 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The 6.7-inch AMOLED display offers a 1080p+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals.

Power is supplied by a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 25 W fast charging via USB-C. Camera hardware includes a 50 MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP macro sensor, and a 13 MP front camera for selfies. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, and the device carries an IP54 rating, making it resistant to splashes but not fully waterproof.

The smartphone ships with Android 15 and comes with Samsung’s promise of six years of major Android updates and security patches, ensuring long-term software support.

The Galaxy M17 5G will debut in India on October 13 at a starting price of ₹12,499 (approximately $140). Details regarding international availability have not yet been announced.
