Microsoft is rolling out AI Actions, a new feature integrated into File Explorer on Windows 11 Insider Preview builds. This tool provides AI-powered commands for working with files directly from the right-click context menu.
Current Functionality (Images Only)
For now, AI Actions supports JPG and PNG image files with the following commands:
- Bing Visual Search: Launches a web search to analyze the image, identify objects, and find similar content.
- Blur Background: Opens the Photos app to automatically blur photo backgrounds, with options to adjust blur intensity or manually refine the area using a brush tool.
- Erase Objects: Uses Photos app’s Generative Erase to remove selected elements from the image.
- Remove Background: Opens Paint to isolate and extract the subject from the background, with manual adjustment tools available.
