Garmin Forerunner 570 & 970 Get Software v15.16: Health Glance, Rolling Pace, and Key Bug Fixes

Garmin has released a stable update for the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 smartwatches, marking the conclusion of the 15.xx testing cycle that began in mid-September 2025.

Software version 15.16 introduces new features and resolves multiple issues. Additions include the sleep-focused Health Glance feature, first introduced with the Venu 4, and a rolling pace data field for more dynamic tracking. Users can now manage notification preferences on a per-app basis, while Morning Report and Evening Report summaries are accessible through the Notification Center. New control options allow closing a training alert using the down key and dismissing a smart notification by covering the screen with a palm.

The update also addresses several bugs, such as excessive battery drain, unexpected reboots, and unexplained screen blanking. The Forerunner 970 receives one additional fix related to the “Search Near” map function, which previously failed to operate correctly.

According to a Garmin representative, software version 15.16 is now available for all users of the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970. To install it manually, navigate to Main Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates on the watch.
